Mini Coopers Crash and kill 4 children in Soweto
Hip-hop artist / Reality TV Star / Mama Jackie's son, Jub Jub was involved in a car crash that has left FIVE school pupils dead. Molemo Maarohanye racing his Mini Cooper S in Protea North in Soweto when the accident happened.
The 2 accused(Jub Jub and the other Mini Cooper Driver) were driving / racing on Mdlalose Street between Protea Glen and Protea North at about 4pm yesterday when they collided with each other.
Their cars swerved off the road and hit the school pupils who were on the pavement. Five of the pupils have now died.
The injured pupils were taken to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
They may face charges of driving under the influence, negligent and reckless driving and culpable homicide!
Mdlalose Street is a two-way street and one of the Mini's drove into oncoming traffic lane, only to have found an oncoming car which caused the mini to get back into its lane and crashing into the other Mini, which then crashed into the pavement and the grass which the School Pupils were walking on! Hitting the Pupils and rolling into the bush. Five Pupils hav since died!!
The two drivers of these Mini Coopers will appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court today.
Things could get worse for them as they seem to have been under the influence of drugs and alcohol!
Metro police confirmed the men were drunk.
Now Soweto children call for safer roads after this accident.
Soweto children have asked authorities to put speed bumps on Mdlalose Street after five children were killed yesterday.
School pupils have complained about drivers who speed past them everyday.
The speed limit on Mdlalose Street is 60km/h but drivers speed past at speeds over 90km/h.
